DescriptionBrazilian Cherry (Eugenia uniflora) is also known as Surinam Cherry—a fast-growing, prolific-bearing fruit tree. Medium- to large-sized berries are sub-acid in taste and delicious eaten fresh or as jam. High in Vitamin C. Delicate white flowers attract bees to the garden. Ideal for growing as a hedge or in a tub. Brazilian Cherry is native to South America and prefers rich, well-composted, moist soils in a protected, partially shaded position—drought- and frost-tender. Perennial shrub growing to 3m x 3m. The fruit is a dark red, edible berry, produced in late spring.
