Description (Pink Champagne Bottlebrush) Family Myrtaceae. Originating from Australia. Beautifully clear, effervescent pink brushes of flowers adorn this evergreen shrub in profusion in early summer and then sporadically in autumn. Each slender, vibrantly coloured stamen has a rich golden anther at its tip, proffering an abundant pollen dusting to any passing pollinator. Its flushes of new leaves, large for a bottlebrush, emerge with a pink flush before maturing to olive green, borne on an upright branching habit. Rare in the UK, it is a perfect star of the show specimen, ideal for Mediterranean gardens and for planting in large pots. Easy to grow in free draining soils in full sun. Height and spread after 5 – 10 years 3m x 2m.
