Description Family Solanaceae Garden origin An evergreen shrub for conservatory, or a sheltered spot in a mild garden. Clusters of purple tubular flowers are lightly evening-scented and produced almost continually when grown indoors. Outdoors, it flowers from late summer through autumn. In colder gardens it can be grown in a pot and taken in for the winter, though we plant ours in the ground and dig up before winter – it doesn’t seem to mind. Grow in moist but well-drained soil in sun. Height and spread in 2 – 3 years 1 x 60cm Mature height and spread, if not pruned, after approximately 4 – 5 years 1.5m x 1.5m.
