Description (Bottlebrush Angela) Family Myrtaceae. Originating from Australia. Generously rotund large brushes of peachy pink flowers adorn this evergreen shrub in profusion in early summer and then sporadically in autumn. The stamens have an evolving colouration, changing from pink to white, with rich golden anthers at their tips, irresistible to any passing pollinator. Its flushes of broad new leaves emerge in a silvery flourish with a pink flush before maturing to olive green, borne on a rounded bushy branching frame. Rare in the UK, it is a perfect star-of-the-show specimen, ideal for Mediterranean gardens and for planting in large pots. Easy to grow in free draining soils in full sun. Height and spread after 5 – 10 years 2m x 2m.
